What an experience the Top End is, and what better way to relax after a long hot day than to chill out beside the pool in the shade. Close to everything in town, friendly staff willing to go the extra mile and help with directions of things to see and do. Free wifi allows for easy connectivity with the outside world. Waking to the sound of frogs outside my bedroom window was a pleasant surprise to say the least. Only 4 stars as the rooms are dated, yes dated but comfortable.

This is really a good place to take shelter in the middle of nowhere. I stayed in the night on my way to Alice Spring. The facilities are good and the rooms are very good. I didn't have the time to taste the food there, can't comment on that.

There were a number of fixtures and fittings that needed fixing, like the toilet roll that kept falling off the wall despite obvious attempts to fix it going by the pile of masonry dust immediately below it.

I was going to correct the wonky painting, concerned that it might fall on me in my sleep, but my attention was taken away by all the spiders and webs over the ceiling. The spiders were only the start. Throughout the next three nights I killed more insects than I have in the last couple of years in my own house. I even discovered insects that I never knew existed.

I understand that accommodation in a place like Tennant Creek isn't going to be anything special...you just need a place to shower and sleep at, but this place is on a totally different level. Even after several days back at home I still feel dirty thinking about this place.

Overall, this place is very unhealthy and unsafe. Until the management pick up their act I strongly suggest you spend a little extra and look elsewhere for accommodation in Tennant Creek.

Did not stay at the motel but did visit the restaurant. What disappointing experience, if you are looking for somewhere to eat in Tennant Creek I recommend you try one of the service clubs, you will be much happier. The restaurant seems to be struggling with an identity, one sign says Tex schnitzel house, another says restaurant and steak house, the menu seems Chinese, the chairs say China, the paintings on the wall say Bavaria. The service was very slow for a place that was near empty. The food was that that disappointing that we left after a few mouthfuls, leaving the majority of the food on the plate.

Worst place i've ever stayed at! They dont change your sheets, dont lock your door after cleaning (which they dont take responsibility if anything gets stolen, which i had), doors dont lock properly, blames everything on the tenant, dont change your sheets or replace towels after used for a week. Lost lots of clothes when they washed them. Recommend to stay anywhere else is tennant creek, even on the side road out of town! Good luck!

Housekeeping was almost non existent. If I was lucky, they touched the bed (I actually thought the bed looked better in the state that I left it in). The floors were never vacuumed (evident by a some of the dead bugs I had to kill the night prior still on the floor), no clean sheets or towels, and the coffee cups I bravely used were never washed despite rinsing them out myself and leaving them in an obvious spot.

I think a one star rating is very generous, if there was an option for zero or maybe a negative star, I would be using it.

The first thing I noticed upon entering my room was the giant 1x2m painting/print hanging precariously above the bed head. Alarm bells start ringing if housekeeping don't notice a freaking massive print that's hanging on a 30 degree angle.

The frog discovery did shed some light on what the unidentified objects were in the shower however. It was frog poo.

It doesn't stop there though. Two frogs decided to visit unexpectedly. One came in under the 20mm gap below the front door, and another somehow found their way in via the toilet. While in theory having Kermit and his mate in my motel room would be of some benefit controlling the inspects, I didn't fancy the idea of Kermit jumping about while I am trying to sleep.

There was grime all through the bathroom and dust on every surface. Even outside the motel room was disgusting, dead branches everywhere and recycling bins overflowing with beer cans. Reception hours seemed to vary each day, so I never got a chance to raise my concerns.
